Kris Kremers age 21 and Lisanne Froon age 22 were
Dutch students who decided to take a 6-week trip of a lifetime to Panama. The
trip was a reward for finishing college and they saved up for months to pay for
it.
On the 15th of
March 2014, the two girls began to tour Panama for two weeks, before arriving
at their host family's home in Bouquete, where they would stay for the
remainder of the trip. The girls were in Bouquette to learn culture, Spanish
and to volunteer with children.
Timeline of events📅
•
April 1st Both
girls along with the host family's dog named Blue went on a hike of the
Pianista. Just before heading on this hike they met two young Dutch men for
lunch. This spontaneous hike was quite strange, as they had arranged to meet up
with a tour guide the following day to go on this same hike, but for some
reason they decided to do it the day before by themselves.
•
The night of April 1st the
dog returned to the host family, however the two girls did not. The host family
became worried, but because the girls were adults and they could have just
stayed out that night, they left their concerns until the following day.
•
April 2nd when
the girls did not show up to their appointment with the tour guide, he
contacted the family. The girls where then reported missing to the police.
•
April 3rd A
search of the trail, which included the jungle surroundings was conducted. No
sign of the girls or anything belonging to them was found.
•
April 6th the
girl’s parents arrived along with Dutch police and an extensive search of the
jungle began. This search lasted 10 days and there was still no sign of the
girls.
•
June 14th 10
weeks after the girls went missing a couple found Lisanne's back pack hundreds of miles away
in another town. The couple insisted that the bag was not there the day before,
as they check the area each day. There were many items within the bag some
included; both girl’s phones, a camera, sunglasses, bikinis and cash.
The phone and Camera📞
The girls phone records are shown below. This was
extremely alarming to the police as the girls tried to dial emergency services
only a few hours after they began their hike. Both girls tried to call
emergency services again many times over April 1st and
2nd however sadly they had no signal. They tried to
search for a signal many times until April 5th.
After this Lisanne's phone died and Kris’s phone was turned on but each time
the pin was put in wrong and on April 11th the
phone was turned off for the last time.
The camera proved the girls made it to the end of
the trail, which was overlooking the continental divide. Further photos prove
that they then went further past the divide and into the jungle. Between 1am
and 4 pm there are 90 flash photos taken of different things deep in the
jungle. Some of the photos are shown here. The most alarming picture is one
of Kris Kremer's head with what appears to be blood on her temple. However this
image was not made public. The images were totally random and 1 was taken
every 2 minutes. Many people think they were trying to lead the way with the light, scare off animals or leave behind clues.
Both phones and the camera were in perfect condition, despite being in the bag for 10 weeks in the rain and the humidity..
The bones👣
After finding the backpack the police and locals searched
that area and found Kris's shorts neatly folded on a rock. Two months after the
bag was found a shoe was discovered with a foot still in it and a pelvic bone nearby.
A further 33 bones were then found which belonged to both girls. they were
scattered about the area which was a whole day’s trip away from where they
started their hike.
Lisanne's bones still had some flesh attached to
them, however Kris's bones had been bleached. The search team did not find any
more bones of the girls in this location. None of the bones that they did find
had any trace of animal scratching or biting.
So, what happened to these girls? and how did some
of their bones get hundreds of miles away? they only had 1 bottle of water and
some candy bars and they did not know the area, it really is a bizarre
situation. A detailed video of the bone findings is shown below;
Theories🔍
Mexican Cartel
Bone bleaching is found in Mexican Cartel murders
to decay the body faster. They use Lime, which was found on Kris's bones. After
the bones were tested the police stopped releasing information, many believe
this is because of DNA which proves foul play from Mexican cartels. Mexican Theory article
The girls passed away naturally
Due to the lack of food and water the girls could have died naturally while trying to make their way for help. This is very possible
due to the conditions in the jungle, however it is strange that they made it so
far away from the hike despite having barely any water.
Stalker
A common theory is that someone knew they were
going on the trail that day and followed them. The potential person must have
been someone who knew the area. This would explain why the phones where turned
on multiple times and the incorrect password was inserted many times. The
person then disposed of the bones in different areas.
Personally, I feel that this case is extremely
strange. There are so many pieces of evidence that do not make sense. I really
cannot put my finger on the reason these girls died.
